Ichtyology training in Georgia

  • September 17, 2017

The training took place in Georgia at 26-30 October 2017. It united specialists from Georgia, Russian Federation and Ukraine.

The training included theoretical part on the Black Sea fish identification. A lot of practical exercises on fish catching and identification were conducted during the training.1The participants even caught a Black Sea shark spurdog (see photo).2Fish issue was also taken for chemical analysis and relevant samples were properly prepared for further chemical analysis. This is really important, taking into account that previous chemical analysis of the fish tissue showed the presence of toxic substances, e.g. dioxins) It is worth to mention that participants of the training took an active part in the Black Sea Day event in Poti, where they shared their knowledge with youth.

The project expresses the gratitude to NEA, and especially to Archil Guchmanidze for proper organization of the training!
