- February 04, 2022
We are happy to inform you that the Final Scientific Report of the EU-UNDP Project EMBLAS obtained its ISBN number and is now available for public. The report contains scientific findings, based on the data collected during the oceanic observations in 2016, 2017 and 2019 – The Joint Black Sea Surveys, which included Surveys and National Pilot Monitoring Studies, carried out in open sea, as well as in waters of Georgia, Russian Federation and Ukraine.
During the surveys, samples of sea water, sediments and biota were collected and analysed in national and international laboratories. The results and conclusions from the analyses are summarized in this report in more than 1000 pages. Some information & findings are presented for the first time. The report is assessing the descriptors stated in the EU Marine Strategy Framework Directive, with a focus on those covering Biodiversity, Nonindigenous species, Eutrophication, Contaminants, and Marine Litter.
We believe that this report is an important source of information for scientists, for decision makers as well as anyone who is interested and involved in the environmental monitoring and the protection of the Black Sea.
