  • December 16, 2023

This month, the EU-UNDP project EU4EMBLAS together with the “Dialogues” art space started he unique school for children that combines art and science – the Black Sea Mapping.

40 children from two cities (Odesa and Mykolaiv) got the opportunity to conduct their own research on the Black Sea together with scientists and display their results on the maps in collaboration with professional artists. The themes of the maps range from important dolphin sanctuaries, Black Sea depths, marine trade routes to sunken ships and treasures. The art techniques selected for the map production are colour graphics and floristics.

The age of the kids is 10-14 years. A total of 9 classes are planned together with scientists and artists.

The maps created by the students will be solemnly presented at a joint exhibition that will take place in Odesa (mid-January 2024) and in Mykolaiv (mid-February 2024).

We will keep you informed about the outcomes of this joint mapping adventure.
