Kids’ exhibition “Black Sea Diary” has moved to Kyiv together with the Black Sea Quest
- August 05, 2024
On 2nd of August, 2024, the Central Children Library named after Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv hosted our great exhibition “Black Sea diary”. As we wrote earlier, it is the result of the school held by the EU4EMBLAS project jointly with the creative space “Dialogues” for the refugee kids. The kids created 38 artworks – portraits of marine inhabitants: crabs, dolphins, jellyfish, different fish species, and even marine turtles and monk seals who lived in the Black Sea earlier. Read more about the exhibition here.
Now visitors of the library can enjoy some Black Sea spirit and get an inspiration to learn more about the Black Sea.
A special Black Sea quest was held at the opening of the exhibition. It contains the following tasks:
• identifying who lives in the Black Sea among many different species;
• filling a special marine crossword;
• helping to sort the waste correctly to prevent establishment of the marine litter;
• putting together a special Black Sea puzzle developed from the marine litter by the project;
• writing wishes to the Black Sea and its inhabitants.
In total, 36 kids of ages 8-11 years took part in the quest. It was joyful and learning exercise, as participants noted. In the end all the participants got a pocket torch as a present from the project, to have some light in case of the energy short cuts, which are very frequent now.
The exhibition will last will 31st of August 2024 and we invite Kyiv citizens to visit it. The address is Beresteysky prospect, 25A, Kyiv.
