Clean Beach Day in Georgia

  • September 16, 2024

On 15th of September 2024, in the eve of the Clean Beach Day, the clean-up was arranged by the EU4EMBLAS project in Georgia. Students from three Batumi schools (School No. 6, Gorda and School of the Village of Gonio) took part in the campaign.

The beach at the mouth of the Chorokhi River was chosen for the campaign. It was relatively clean, so it took a lot of effort to collect one full trunk of a car (pickup). The collected garbage mainly consisted of polyethylene and other similar polymers.

The children were very pleased and diligently completed all the work. Further a lunch was organized for all participants, as well as an educational lecture on the importance of protecting the sea from marine litter.

This became another small educational and practical step towards the cleaner Black Sea.
