Weekend school “The Black Sea Mosaic” has successfully started this Sunday
- July 15, 2025

This weekends in Odesa, kids joined the weekend school “The Black Sea mosaic”. It contains in total of 8 interactive lectures and master classes on topics of marine biodiversity, marine litter, sustainable fashion, mine safety, underwater archaeology etc. The lectures are given by leading experts: biologists, oceanographers, underwater archaeologists, inventors, and others.
The lessons are held every two weeks, starting on 13 July 2025. A gala event is planned at the end to mark Black Sea Day (31 October 2025).
The first lecture with video immersion was dedicated to 10 amazing inhabitants of the Black Sea. It was conducted offline in Odesa art shelter “Dialogues”.
The kids were split in two age groups: 10-13, and 14-15.
At the lecture, the kids learned:
• whether sharks live in the Black Sea;
• how jellyfish reproduce;
• who in our sea – are ‘masters of camouflage’;
• which fish can… sing, etc.
In the end of the lecture, the kids played a game “Guess who I am” to repeat the key information about the marine inhabitant followed by ice cream networking.
The first lecture raised high interest of kids and their parents.
