The third lesson of the Black Sea weekend school about currents and underwater treasures was held last weekend

  • August 12, 2025

For the third time this summer, EU4EMBLAS gathered kids to dive even deeper into the underwater mysteries of the Black Sea.

This Sunday, traditionally, two groups of kids (10-13 and 14-15 years old) listened to a lecture. This time it was held by oceanographer Natalia Shepel. She told about:

• underwater treasures of the Black Sea;
• currents, underwater rivers and seawater movement in general;
• seabed exploration;
• history of the formation of the Black Sea.

For homework, kids need to plan a small scientific research on any topic related to the Black Sea.

The school lasts every second weekend (starting from 13 July 2025), i.e. every two weeks. The final event of the school is scheduled for the Black Sea Day on 31 October. There is still an opportunity to join the school.

The school is organised with the support of the EU-UNDP project ‘European Union for Strengthening Environmental Protection’ jointly with the art space “Dialogues”.
