The 6th Black Sea Mosaic lecture on artificial reefs was held this Sunday in Odesa

Our weekend school continues! This Sunday, September 21, our students learned about the underwater world of the Black Sea again, and this time about what marine inhabitants need for a comfortable life.

The lecture for groups of two age categories (10-13 and 14-15 years old) was conducted by marine ecologist Oleksandr Zakletsky.

During the lecture, kids learned about the following:

• What determines the vital activity of organisms;
• What living conditions are the most comfortable for marine organisms;
• What kind of home would they rather choose;
• What are artificial reefs, how and from what materials are they built.

Within the homework, participants will design their own artificial reef for a particular type of marine inhabitants.
