The Black Sea Day celebrations in Ukraine: the final of the Black Sea weekend school

On October 31st, at Black Sea Day, the results of the Black Sea weekend school, which lasted 4 months, were presented. Twenty-nine kids have completed all their homework with good marks and received their diploma, the mask for underwater diving, and the book, published by the EU4EMBLAS project, “My friend is the Black Sea”. Most of these kids were from Odesa, some studied online, representing Mykolaiv, Ochakiv and even Cherkasy.

The participants demonstrated their knowledge gained from the special quiz and shared their impressions about the school. Both kids and parents shared their warm opinions about the school and the knowledge they got. “We were studying in your school with the whole family, including the grandmother”, – the lady from Mykolaiv shared at the awards ceremony. “We learned a lot and started to value more our unique Black Sea”, – she adds.

The organizers expressed their hope that now kids will understand that the Black Sea is not just salty water with the beaches, but a whole world with its own creatures and rules, which is very vulnerable.
