
On 3rd of September 2017, press-conference devoted to an ecological survey carried out by the EU/UNDP project “Improving Environmental Monitoring in the Black Sea” (EMBLAS-II) was conducted in Batumi under the leadership of the National Environmental Agency, Georgia.The press-conference provided journalists and wide public with the new methods of Black Sea surveys (like environmental DNA traces, further development of the Black sea priority substances) and significance of the surveys for the marine environmental policy development in Georgia.
A special high-level guest from Georgian parliament Mr. Kahaber Kuchava made a speech on implementation of Marine Strategy Framework Directive in Georgia.
The event also included the awarding procedure of the 5 winners of the Black Sea SaveBook, all from the Poti school # 4, who also had the excursion to the marine research vessel “Mare Nigrum”. Especially the project congratulates Kristina Chanturia for becoming an international winner of the Black Sea SaveBook.
In total more than 60 participants took part in the event. The event was highly covered in media (see below the links).
