Tbilisi State University: informing about the Black Sea and continuing marine litter monitoring

The following recent activities were carried out by Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) within project EMBLAS:

• As it was planned, on the 15th of November, 2017, the School of Junior Geographers of Iv.Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Junior ( TSU JUNIOR – https://www.facebook.com/UnijunioatTSU/), TSU Team members of project EMBLAS and Centre of Continuing Education organized  the session for schools age audience titled: “Environmental monitoring of the Black Sea” aiming the dissemination and promotion of Black Sea problems,  results of EMBLAS scientific cruises and mobile application. Participants of the event, that covers all school grades, were presented by caps with EMBLAS logo, sponsored by TSU.

• 5^th expedition on Marine beach and riverine litter monitoring was organized  (06. 11. – 13.11. 2017)  on selected sections. Riverine floating litter monitoring  is realized on 4 rivers: Rioni, Supsa, Natanebi, Chorokhi. Obtained data was submitted  to RIMELL data base.
