ANOTHER PUBLIC CAMPAIGN ON PLASTIC SORTING HAS JUST STARTED WITH NEW MEMBER OF THE PLASTICCHEW’S FAMILY

  • February 08, 2022

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the EU / UNDP Project EU4EMBLAS and the student ecological team “Zero Waste School: Kherson” have just announced the start of another campaign to collect and recycle plastic “Sonya gives “time” for eco-habits”*.

The rules for participating are as follows:

• Register by the following link: https://bit.ly/35LH5ED

• Collect 10 kg of plastic with sign “2” or “HDPE” (usually this is a bottle caps and packaging of detergents)

• Send collected and sorted plastic to “Zero Waste School: Kherson” workshop for free until March 22 (World Water Day)

This time the unusual task is to collect as many rare colors of plastic as possible (pink, violet, purple). Each kilogram of such plastic is equal to 5 kilograms of common plastic.

This task aims to make the process of collecting plastic more exciting and interesting for children. It is also designed to draw more attention to what plastic we use in everyday life, and to show that we have a lot of different raw materials for creativity.

Every participant who meets all the conditions will receive a unique gift – a wall clock made of recycled plastic with the image of the inhabitants of the Black Sea. Gifts will be presented for World Earth Day on April 22.
